English & Social Science Courses for High School

Dear Homeschooling Parents,

 My name is Dr. David Byers. I’m a college professor, veteran homeschooler (over 20 years), and published author in the homeschooling arena with College-Prep Homeschooling and Leadership Lessons for Homeschooled Teens, both published by Mapletree Publishing. I’ve been teaching for 30 years at a variety of levels (everything from preschool to college) and in a wide range of subject areas. I have a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Teaching and Learning.

 I offer over 80 different courses to homeschooled high school students in the areas of English and Social Sciences. The courses are offered in both one semester (1/2 credit) and two semester (1 credit) options.

 These courses are taught one-on-one with each student rather than in a group format in order to provide each student with individualized attention. In addition, the courses are conducted asynchronously via email so students don’t have to be online at a particular day or time.

 Each course is very affordable and designed to provide your child with a solid education through interesting, innovative, and informative assignments. In each course, students get ample practice reading and writing—the two key areas of learning necessary for success in college and in life.

 I developed these courses myself and have used them with my own children and with other homeschooling children for the past several years. I currently have students from all over the United States, as well as U.S. students living abroad in several countries.

 With over 80 courses to choose from, I am sure to have many to meet your child’s needs and interests. I also create customized courses upon request when students want to focus on particular subject matter, want to read certain books, or want to combine their interests in some way, such as studying specific time periods or people in history through a variety of unique writing assignments.

 Registration is now open for spring 2014 courses. Courses begin January 13, 2014, with registration due by January 6, 2014. If you need your child to begin on a different date, that’s not a problem at all. I can create a customized schedule for you and am more than happy to create schedules that work around family vacations, holidays, or other events—just please let me know what you need.
