Homeschooling 101 Mini-Conference & Curriculum Sale

If you are considering homeschooling this year or in the future, this might be the conference for you. If you have been homeschooling and found the maze of information confusing and the days long, this might be the inspiration and rejuvenation you need for the approaching school year. Join us Saturday, July 19, 1 to 5 pm, at Moffett Road Assembly of God Family Center for our annual Curriculum Sale and Mini-Conference. You will find good deals on used curriculum, three sessions filled with encouragement, and time to connect with other home school moms. The Curriculum & Book Sale begins at 1 pm and will continue in between sessions throughout the afternoon until 5 pm. See the information on each session below. You are welcomed to bring friends! Please click HERE and RSVP, indicating if you would like a table to sell curriculum/books. No fees are charged for tables, but tables are limited. Reserve yours early! No childcare is provided. Quiet children are welcomed in our sessions.
Session I Homeschooling 101/Orientation 1:30 – 2:10 pm
In this session, Retta Franklin, Administrator of MRCS, will outline the basics of homeschooling in Alabama and touch on the requirements for MRCS in particular, leaving time for questions and answers.
Session II Sorting through the Sea of Curriculum 2:30 – 3:15 pm
Teresa Stokes, MRCS board member, will discuss the general methods of homeschooling and learning styles, giving examples of curriculum and helpful advice for pinpointing what curriculum will best fit your teaching style and your student. Refreshments/Book Sale 3:15 – 3:45 pm
Session III Veteran Voices 3:45 pm – 4:30 pm
Three home school moms who’ve been there, done that, and finished well, will encourage you with their words of wisdom.
